Started reading Ackroyd’s London: A biography. It’s excellent, but chunky
Emotional support dog
As all the rubbish has been going on at work I decided I needed to make sure I was doing that self care thing. I love dogs but bruno can’t walk far these days and I miss going for treks through the forest. So I’ve been pondering getting a new dog. So today we went to see some black Labradors & put a deposit on this fella. I think we’re going to name him Gelert.
Cheers
The OU vice chancellor resigned today after a catastrophic period. It has been awful on campus and it felt like a big relief. There are still some big challenges ahead but hopefully can face these in a more collegial manner. So I popped to the pub for a pint
Castell Coch
On leave this week but skint after the Nottingham weekend so staying at home. Went for a spin around Castell Coch today – I have an annual pass so can treat it like my home.
Playoff champions
Last year we won the league for the first time in 20 years, and this year we won the playoffs for the first time in 19 years.
Playoff semi finals
Up to Nottingham today for the Playoff final weekend. Devils were first up against Fife, winning 4-0. We will play the Steelers tomorrow in a repeat of last year’s final (but hopefully with a different outcome)
Awards night
It was the Cardiff Devils awards night tonight. It was a fun evening, they’re such a well run organisation
Hip hop cooking
I did a 3 course meal from the Rappers Delight Cookbook today for Easter (each dish is a pun on a rappers name). These LL Cool Soufflés turned out pretty well
Chilling at Easter
After a busy week, relished doing nothing today. I ordered some new throws for the sofas during the week and bruno approved
Coventry away win
We played Coventry away today in the playoffs quarter final. A very professional 4-2 win looks good for Sunday’s second leg
