We stayed in Grasmere for a few days, and did a walk over to Elterwater. On the way back there was hail, showers and sunshine, creating this rainbow that seems to emerge from the lake.

Lakes house in autumn
Just outside Grasmere
Buttermere
We stayed at the Bridge hotel tonight (who were very friendly and gave Pip sausages for breakfast). It is delightfully isolated, in the middle of a steep valley, with 2 lakes. Had a quick walk around Buttermere before it got dark.
Birthday pile
We went into town for my daughter’s birthday. We let her choose the restaurant so she chose Yo Sushi. Here is the resultant pile
