This is Brandy, a Haflinger. It looks like we are taking her on loan, so daughter gets to ride her and look after her whenever she wants. I’ve a feeling I’m going to be spending a lot of time at these stables.

Posse
Went horseriding up the Brecon Beacons today. The weather stayed fair, and there were a few of us on the ride, so we could pretend we were cattle rustling in Montana, if you squinted hard enough.
Wand of destiny
I was walking the dogs over the mountain today while daughter was having her riding lesson. I found this new, pink fairy wand style riding crop, so I thought I’d take it with me to drop back at the stables. I then encountered a big group of walkers who i chatted with. They probably wondered ‘why does that middle aged man have an 8 year old girl’s riding whip with him?”
Betinselled
Or is it entinselled? Anyway, for dort’s last riding lesson of the year we took cupcakes and they all wore tinsel on their hats. Because nothing says christmas like a cheap bit of sparkly ribbon.
Rider on the mountain
A blipcheat today – I actually took this yesterday, but had already blipped, and then I didn’t get a chance to take a photo today (I get up in the dark, drive to MK, spend day in office, leave in the dark). So I have inveigled this one into serve for today. Don’t judge me.
What little girls are made of
Ice hockey, drumming & horse riding. You can keep your sugar and spice.
Stable moon
Not a very good pic, sorry. Realised as I was leaving the stables at 9pm that I hadn’t done a photo today. So, look, a moon.
Day at the races
Daughter and I went to Chepstow Races today. It was a grey, miserable day, and not the sunny day at the races that I’m sure they had anticipated. Still it was good fun. We didn’t come out up on the day.
Brecon western
Today I went horseriding with my daughter up at Cantref in the Brecon Beacons. It was a glorious day, one felt like you could be setting off on a cattle herding expedition.
Horse & rider
My daughter is ready to ride tonight – with the clocks going forward it meant it is light on a Friday night when we go up, so they get to go out on the mountain.
