Sunny day, brief walk along the waterfront before conferencing.
It’s been a great conference, I’ve got the weekend here and then off to Kamloops to visit Thomson Rivers Uni

Spent the day in the conference but popped out at lunchtime
Vancouver
I’ve not been to Vancouver before. It’s my kinda town – modern, people walk everywhere, nice bars, a waterfront. And rain. Lots of rain.
Vancouver art
Did that jet lag thing of waking up before 5, and doing a good amount of work by 10. Then went to the Vancouver Art Gallery. This was excellent, really liked the Canadian Landscape exhibition on the 1st floor and the historical art on the 4th. This is a face mask from 1880. Is it just me who sees a prototype hockey goalie mask?
Then did some shopping for hockey presents, and back to room for some work. Not sure I’ll be awake come 9pm.
Downtown
Travelled to Vancouver today for the OpenEd conference. Was still quite awake at 11pm so went for a walk, and found a coffee place.
Walking the dog
My debate about whether to get another dog goes on. I have become a stalker of dog rehoming web sites. Today daughter and I walked Bruno, he is an old (11 years) Staffie. No-one wants him because he is old (and a bit deaf), but he was lovely.
Back to back
Cardiff devils played the Belfast Giants tonight. We looked pretty comfortable throughout and won 6-3.
House of the old
This is an antiques centre down by the river.
Weather is coming
The weather vane up at the stables is getting ready for Storm Abigail
We have pi(e)
I made a chicken and mushroom pie. It was good. The title refers to some stickers I bought my daughter for her school books – the Maths one says “Come to maths side – we have pi”
