It’s been a busy week when I’ve felt overwhelmed by competing, urgent priorities at times. I’ll have to carry it in to the weekend too (break out the violins). But for now – gin & some Miles

Go-Feet
The Beat were the first band I saw live. The whole floor shook when everyone started dancing. So my latest vinyl acquisition was Special Beat Service which came with bonus dub album.
King of Limbs
A sleeveface with new vinyl purchase
Oops
Was in town today and before I knew it I had ended up in Spillers Records (the oldest record shop in the world).
Set sail in turquoise days
I bought my favourite Bunnymen album online the other day. To my surprise it was a blue vinyl copy
This is what you get
Had a meeting at OU Wales today but forgot to take a pic. But did pick up this vinyl – I’ve only ever owned it on cd before, didn’t realise it was a double album.
There is a light that never goes out
I may just blip vinyl all year – today’s album, The Smiths The Queen is Dead. God I loved this album as an angst ridden teenager. Morrissey went on to become a self parody but here his lyrics were at their finest – it’s a very witty album in places despite the miserable tag.
Don’t stop
My latest vinyl (re)acquisition is The Stone Roses. I think this was the last time I was really obsessed by music. It’s worth having on vinyl because, as we discovered when a bit worse for wear in Kingston in 1990, if you play Don’t Stop backwards it is the preceding track, Waterfall.
Turntable
And here is the turntable I bought – has some ok built in speakers but connects to my Bose & sounds pretty good.
Spinning vinyl
Bought myself a turntable & picked up a couple of vinyl albums today. This means buying albums for 20 quid which I used to own. There was something lovely about reliving the experience of turning a record over, choosing a side, reading the sleeve notes, etc.
