This is a poor quality photo, I should’ve taken another one. In principle I like the idea of the shot – Castell Coch viewed through the uprights of the rugby posts. I’ll take my good camera and try again one day.

Abandoned shack
Did an 8 mile run up through the forest today and passed this house/shack. I always like coming across old buildings in the middle of the woods, although I half expect some leatherface, chainsaw wielding psycho to leap out.
Melingriffith Water Pump
Taken while out for a run – I always go past this water pump, which was restored recently: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-13999352 but I never see it in operation. There is a seating area in front but it’s always locked so had to take this photo from behind bars.
There’s quite an interesting history about Melingriffith, a village that has disappeared really and been subsumed.
Reflections in the Taff

The scrummage machine
It sounds like the title of a Kurt Vonnegut novel, but in case you don’t know, is a rugby training device. There are lots of fancy ones around but most rugby clubs have fairly old, battered ones like this, which stay on the field.
Lost or Found
This is the entrance to Forest Fawr, which is near where I live. We went for a walk at dusk and they have a fairy trail through the forest, complete with witches cauldron, fairy doors in the trees, etc. I think this has a slightly creepy element too.
Bridge to the cafe
A rather dilapidated bridge that goes over to a farm with a cafe.
