Good day deciding our key messages & gathering evidence today
Monthly Archives: January 2018
Writing week
We have to complete an impact case for the REF and managed to get some funding to come away for a week to complete it in one hit. We have booked this cottage in Gloucestershire so arrived today (with Bruno) ready to talk impact & evidence
Grandaddy
I loved the Sophtware Slump but haven’t listened to Grandaddy in ages. I bought this vinyl of last year’s comeback album and it’s lovely. Sadly Kevin García died last year so it may be their last
Foggy day
Up to Birmingham for training session today – was a foggy old day
In town
I’m still on leave so went into town – bought some vinyl & had a cheeky pint
Present
Had my birthday recently – my daughter’s present for me arrived today. It is, of course, ice hockey related. A Devils jersey with Tyson Strachan’s number – he’s our unflappable, assured defender.
Guildford trip
We went to Guildford today to see the Devils play – we lost 3-2 in over time.
Friendly giant
New wood carving down by Forest Farm
New sound system
It’s my birthday soon so I treated myself to a turntable, amp & speakers in the sales. This arrived today and after a bit of faffing I set it up. I’m not really an audio nerd, I don’t have a good ear for fine differences but the quality of this compared to my old cheap turntable which I just plugged into a single speaker is amazing.
MK road trip
Started the year with a road trip to Milton Keynes to see the Devils get their 13th straight win. Was an easy 5-0 victory.
