I’m on leave this week. Was still recovering from the game last night so felt a bit knackered, but got out for a 12.5 mile run. Had a meeting about a new OER project this afternoon and then sat in the garden for a bit reading in the sunshine.

Welcome to the epic
Tonight we played the Steelers in the play off final. Having won the league, the cup & the conference trophies this was a chance at a grand slam. We went 3-1 up, 5-4 down, equalised at 5-5 and then went into overtime. This ended goalless so we had a 5th period. It was like the final round in a Rocky movie both teams exhausted and just slugging away on instinct. Then the steelers got the golden goal. It was heartbreaking but it was a great season
Playoffs
We are up in Nottingham for the ice hockey playoffs. The Devils played the first semi final against Dundee at 1. We went two behind but won 4-2, to take us to the final tomorrow.
Sunny run
After a couple of days at conference which have been boozy it was good to get out today for a run in the sunshine. This is one of the old viaducts up the taff trail
Virtually Connecting
Did my talk today and also ran a virtually Connecting session – here Maren Deepwell (CEO of ALT), Lucy Crompton Reid (CEO of Wikipedia Uk) & Lisa Taner (ou PhD student) discuss the conference
OER17 bowling
Had an excellent day at the OER17 conference. They eschewed the traditional conference dinner for an evening of bowling & karaoke. It was good fun, here my OU colleague Simon Horrocks goes for a strike
Separated at birth
I’m at OER17 in London for a couple of days – here Jim Groom & I sport our Hack Education t shirts
