Euro16 kicked off tonight. Daughter suggested we get a wall chart, so here it is, blutacked on the lounge door, like a bunch of students.

Rose 2
I don’t know what this one is called either. While not as rampant as yesterday’s, it’s a prettier, more delicate rose (much like myself).
Rose update
I bet you’re dying to know how roses are coming along in my garden? Well the next few days are for you. First up, this climbing rose which is doing quite well, but isn’t my favourite one. The aphids love it.
I’d rather not
This isn’t the place to go into the whole eu referendum, but Vote Leave seem to have the BIGGEST signs. I’m surprised by the number of them in Wales, which does pretty well out of the EU
Not completely mega-Monday
Tonight there was an event at Ice Arena Wales for Cardiff Devils season ticket holders trumpeted as Mega Monday. There were signings to be announced, a Q&A, prizes, etc. In the event it was probably over-hyped as the only signings were four guys returning from last year. I think we’d got ourselves worked up for an NHL star they way they were billing it.
But to be fair, they don’t make money from this event, it’s just something they put on to make us feel connected to the club still, and a fair bit of work must have gone into organising it, so one shouldn’t be critical of something done for free and out of generosity. But boy, was it hot in that bar.
Markings
I saw a woman very carefully drawing on the wall under the bridge in crayon. When I passed it later there was these mysterious markings. All very Blair Witch
Brecon walk
Took Bruno for a walk up in the Brecon beacons today. Got out early, did our walk before the full heat of the day and was back by 1.
Wood storage
I discovered there is a best selling book called “Norwegian Wood: Chopping, Stacking, and Drying Wood the Scandinavian Way”. These trees have been cleared by me, but I’m not sure there is a book in it.
Bragging about Hay
Daughter and I went to the Hay Festival today. We saw Jim Baggott talk about science of creation and then Billy Bragg in conversation (he sang a few songs as well). Bragg was very engaging, and afterwards chatted for ages with people queuing to get his book signed (I have a signed copy already of course)
The break in the day
We’re on holiday this week, but daughter is tired and revising so we’re not doing much. But I try to get her out each day, so today’s visit was to Starbucks for these delights.
