Bought myself some of da art – gone all abstract expressionism
I may just blip vinyl all year – today’s album, The Smiths The Queen is Dead. God I loved this album as an angst ridden teenager. Morrissey went on to become a self parody but here his lyrics were at their finest – it’s a very witty album in places despite the miserable tag.
It was NFL playoff weekend and I bought a sky sports pass to watch Cowboys/Packers tonight. I saw the Cowboys in Dallas once so hence the hat. But I like the Packers. In the end the Packers won.
And yes have shaved the beard off for a trial.
My latest vinyl (re)acquisition is The Stone Roses. I think this was the last time I was really obsessed by music. It’s worth having on vinyl because, as we discovered when a bit worse for wear in Kingston in 1990, if you play Don’t Stop backwards it is the preceding track, Waterfall.
Bruno likes to snuggle right in on my lap like a small dog & not the big clumsy, step on your private parts one that he is.
Went to see Taxi Driver at the cinema tonight, the first time I’d seen it on the big screen. My thoughts over on my film blog.
Well, hills really
And here is the turntable I bought – has some ok built in speakers but connects to my Bose & sounds pretty good.
Bought myself a turntable & picked up a couple of vinyl albums today. This means buying albums for 20 quid which I used to own. There was something lovely about reliving the experience of turning a record over, choosing a side, reading the sleeve notes, etc.
Had pip over for a rare visit. I like having the two dogs, they complement each other. Bruno is all affectionate, but dopey whereas pip is independent and bubbly. Here pip uses Bruno as a bum rest.
