By order of the peaky blinders

admin — Mon, 25 Dec 2017 00:00:00 +0000

Daughter & I are fans of Peaky Blinders (and swearing). I gave her some Christmas money in this card, because I’m good at parenting. Hope you had a good Christmas if you celebrate it

It’s a wrap

I only have to wrap presents for daughter but I manage to do it badly. Presents are now under the tree.

Daughter has her 16th coming up. She was with me today so I gave her my presents including this custom vinyl I had cut with significant songs from her life. I even made my own album sleeve.

Daughter got some of her GCSE results while we were away (she is in year 10 and the split the exams across two years). She got the results she was after so today I introduced her to Prosecco, which she quite liked.

Pills n spills

Not a good start to the week. I picked up a cold bug at the car boot sale and felt v rough today. I’m supposed to be in MK for a project launch tomorrow but spent 80% of the day sleeping.
But worse, yesterday Bruno went lame. He couldn’t control his legs and kept crashing into things and collapsing. It’s not helped by his blindness. I took him to the vets and she said it could be an infection, a stroke or spinal degeneration. Hopefully it’s the first, we have some tablets, and will take him back on Friday.
So we both spent the day on the sofa, feeling sorry for ourselves.

Car boot sale 2

Car boot sale

Daughter & I did a car boot sale today in order to raise money for her Zambia trip. They didn’t actually put any signs up so no-one knew it was there. But we sold a couple of big items to other car booters so did OK.

Fatboy slim(mer)

I finally got some functioning scales at the end of Nov and found I’d gone up to 14st. I mean who knew that eating a family bar of chocolate every night & not exercising could lead to weight gain?
So I decided to take action and went on a fairly simple eating regime (tea for breakfast, smoothie for lunch, normal dinner plus cut out the snacks). I’d like to pretend it was some Homeric struggle but, combined with marathon training it was okay.
I also used this app to track foods and weight loss & today I reached the target weight I’d set myself of 12st. Not exactly skinny but lighter than I’ve been for 20 years probably.
Now, bring the pies!

Ed tech gathering

Josie Fraser was doing a keynote in Cardiff so joined Dave & Bonnie at my house tonight. For a moment my little village was an epicentre of ed tech expertise.
