Did Berlin aquarium today.
Went to the Pergamon museum today (and the German history museum). The Ishtar Gate is truly breathtaking.
All this walking around being a tourist is exhausting though!
We did one of those hop on hop off buses today so took in a bit of the Wall, Topography of Terror, checkpoint Charlie, and the Holocaust Memorial.
Off to Berlin with daughter today – successfully negotiated transport and had a nice meal tonight.
Did my long run today – building to the Toronto marathon – 15 miles was a struggle but was a nice day for it.
Daughter got some of her GCSE results while we were away (she is in year 10 and the split the exams across two years). She got the results she was after so today I introduced her to Prosecco, which she quite liked.
We left Davos today and had an afternoon to pass in Zurich before catching flight home. Daughter fancied the FIFA museum so we went there. It was quite good, although their coverage of bribery scandals was a bit, well, absent.
We played our first game in the European cup tonight against Davos. They thrashed us 10-1, it was a steep learning curve for the players as the refereeing is different and the pace of Davos was more than we could handle. But it was a great night – there were about 100 of us there and we stayed behind long after the final buzzer, singing.
We are in Davos today – flew to Zurich then got train here. It was a beautiful journey. Once here we walked around town, which was pretty quiet, this is a skiing resort so this is off season.
We are off to Davos tomorrow first thing from Luton airport, so staying overnight in an Easy hotel in Luton. Popped in this lively pub before an early night
